Materials and processes in evolution, our sustainability mission

Since 2005, COSTA NOVA has developed its collections in stoneware, seeking to integrate new solutions in materials and manufacturing processes. The evolution of these processes includes the pursuit of greater efficiency, more efficient resource management, and the reuse of materials and by-products.

Ecogres is an example of this approach. This clay formula, conceived and developed by COSTA NOVA in partnership with the University of Aveiro, incorporates recycled by-products from the ceramic process and local non-ceramic industries, giving these materials a new use and purpose.

The COSTA NOVA Industria Group currently comprises three manufacturing facilities - Grestel 2, Grestel 3 and Ecogres, which specialises in the production of collections crafted from ecogres - as well as two brands, COSTA NOVA and Casafina by COSTA NOVA.
