6. Log in to your account, create a registration or proceed with the purchase as a Guest;

7. Confirm your personal details, delivery/billing addresses, and select the payment method;

8. Accept the Terms and Conditions, and click on the "Secure Payment" option. Please note that if you are paying with a card, you will be redirected to a secure credit card payment form;

9. Proceed with the payment and confirm your order. At the top of the page you can find your order number;

10. Within 24 hours, you will receive a confirmation email;

11. Your order will be processed and dispatched to the delivery address, and you will receive another email containing your tracking number.

Always make sure to review your purchase before clicking "Confirm Payment". Before clicking on "Confirm Payment" you have the possibility to edit any information you entered, such as the shipping or invoice address, payment information, or to add, change or remove products in the "Cart".

The receipt of the purchase will be sent to you in paper format along with your order.

The functionality of buying items as a guest is also available on the website. For this type of purchase, we will only request from you the essential data that is required to process your order. Upon completion of the purchase process, you will be offered the possibility of registering as a user or continuing as a non-registered user.

However, COSTA NOVA recommends the user to opt for creating an account. By registering as a customer on the COSTA NOVA site, the user can access a personal area with all their data (which they can modify), complete their purchases more quickly, track the status of their orders, and review their address list whenever they wish.

All pieces made from fine stoneware offer high resistance to thermal shock, withstanding temperatures from -20°C to 250°C. The maximum recommended temperature variation is 180°C. All stoneware products can be safely used in the oven (except for the crazed glaze*), microwave, and freezer.

Recommendations:

- Avoid placing items directly from the oven onto a cold surface.
- Do not use stoneware directly over an open flame.
- Avoid using products with crazed glazes* in the oven or freezer (e.g. Cristal-Nacar, Dori, Lisboa, Madeira, Riviera, and Elements-Algarve).
*Crazed glazes are always reactive.

All pieces are easy to clean and can withstand abrasive detergents thanks to their high durability and low porosity. Most items are suitable for daily dishwasher use.

Recommendations:

- Ensure items do not touch or knock against each other during washing.
- Hand wash larger or more delicate pieces.
- Items with PVD gold finishes (Impressions, Riviera, and Taormina) should not be used in the oven, microwave, or freezer; hand washing is recommended.
- The metallic glaze of Lagoa should be protected by avoiding prolonged contact with acidic foods.

All COSTA NOVA products comply with international standards, including those set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for lead and cadmium, ensuring they are safe for contact with food.

From time to time, you may notice greyish marks on your pieces, especially on white-glazed surfaces. This is perfectly normal and occurs with all types of glaze - not only matte or semi-matte finishes. These marks are simply metal traces left by cutlery and do not mean the piece is damaged.

To restore your ceramics to their original beauty, we recommend our Ceramic Metal Mark Remover, or any other metal mark remover that is safe for contact with food. Shake the product well, apply a small amount to a cloth, and gently rub the marked surface. Rinse with water and wash with soap and water. Dry with a cloth and enjoy the result.

General care
Although not mandatory, it is recommended to rinse cutlery immediately after contact with acidic or salty foods to help prevent discoloration or corrosion.

Dishwasher
Our stainless steel cutlery is dishwasher safe. Place the cutlery in the appropriate basket or holder with handles facing down, and separate knives to avoid scratching. Avoid mixing cutlery made from different metals to prevent chemical reactions. We recommend removing the cutlery immediately after the cycle and drying it with a soft cloth to prevent water spots.
Pieces with hollow handles or handles made of wood, fibre/resin, or with a PVD finish may be washed in the dishwasher, provided the following recommendations are followed:

- Wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C.
- Use a detergent with less than 10% phosphates.

Knives
The blades are tempered for superior performance but may oxidise if left wet. It is recommended to wash and dry them immediately after use. Store knives in a knife block, protective sleeve, or dedicated drawer to prevent wear and damage.

Maintaining shine and handles
To restore shine to stainless steel pieces, briefly immerse them in a solution of 1 part vinegar to 8 parts warm water, then rinse and dry carefully.
Wooden handles (such as maple or rosewood):

- Avoid prolonged exposure to water.
- Natural colour changes over time are normal and add character.
- Occasionally apply a small amount of food-safe oil to preserve the wood’s tone and texture.

Storage
Store cutlery in a dry, well-ventilated environment.
Use dividers, trays, or protective cases to prevent scratches.
Keep knives protected to preserve blade sharpness and surface integrity.

Hand washing
Hand washing is suitable for all stainless steel cutlery.
Use warm water and a mild detergent, avoiding abrasive sponges, steel wool, or harsh cleaning agents.

- Remove food residues after each use to avoid prolonged contact.

- For hand washing, use warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth or sponge.

- Do not use abrasive or aggressive mechanical cleaning agents.

- Place cutlery in the dishwasher basket or tray, keeping knives separate from the other pieces.

- After each wash cycle, dry the cutlery with a soft cloth.

- Pay special attention to knives, especially those with hollow handles, as they are sharper and more prone to oxidation. Dry them thoroughly after washing.

- To restore shine and remove stains, use a soft cloth with a few drops of lemon juice.

- Special materials such as fibre/resin or PVD should be washed only in the dishwasher, following specific instructions: temperature up to 60°C and detergent with less than 10% phosphates.

- Store cutlery in a dry place.

- Condition resin handles with a moisturising cream.

- Steak/Cheese knives: dishwasher washing is not recommended for cutlery with wooden handles. Wash by hand using a non-abrasive sponge and dry with a soft cloth to prevent corrosion or stains.

Wine glasses, water glasses, and tumblers are dishwasher safe, although hand washing will extend their durability. To preserve their original qualities, we recommend a few additional care tips:

- Before placing them in the dishwasher, rinse the glasses with warm water to remove any residue.
- In the dishwasher, place the glasses in the appropriate rack to prevent scratching. Set the program to 65°C for washing and 65°C for the rinsing phase, with a cycle lasting between 90 and 120 seconds. Use the correct amount of rinse aid: too much may cause iridescence, while too little can leave water marks.
- After washing, slightly open the dishwasher door for 5 to 10 minutes to release steam and prevent halos on the glass caused by condensation.

Wash the glasses individually using a non-abrasive detergent, warm water, and a soft sponge or cloth. For drying, use a microfiber cloth.

For larger or more delicate pieces (such as decanters, cloches, spray-coloured glasses from the Gomos and Sensa collections, and items from the recycled glass Tosca collection), hand washing is recommended.

Textiles

Made in Portugal from high-quality natural fibres, our linen collections are easy to use and care for. They can be machine washed and ironed, according to the specifications of each fabric.

While some 100% cotton items recommend a gentle washing cycle, they can safely withstand a regular cycle - this precaution helps preserve the fibres.

All items display a “do not dry clean” symbol; however, they can tolerate gentle professional cleaning if needed. This guidance is included because harsh solvents can damage the fabric.

Bio-Based Leather

Contains 30% renewable, plant-based content and incorporates copper nanoparticles with antibacterial properties.

Leather

Handcrafted in Portugal, our leather accessories are vegetable-tanned using one of the oldest and most environmentally friendly methods.

This process results in a durable leather that ages beautifully over time.

To preserve its original qualities, we recommend a few additional care tips:

- Clean with a damp cloth.
- For maintenance, occasionally rub with an appropriate oil.

COSTA NOVA cork accessories are made from 100% cork (Cork and Modern Storage collections) or from 20% cork and 80% recycled EVA (Cork collection). Recycled EVA is a by-product of sole production waste, making it a recycled and eco-friendly material.

To preserve their original qualities, we recommend the following care guidelines:

- For daily cleaning, use a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and impurities.
- When necessary, use a damp cloth, avoiding excessive moisture.
- Store away from direct sunlight, humidity, and heat sources.
- Avoid products containing strong alkalis, as they may damage the cork.
- Although safe for contact with food, avoid the transfer of odours and flavours (such as smoke).
- Do not place food directly on the surface.

COSTA NOVA wooden accessories are handcrafted in Portugal using premium-quality woods. Natural variations in tone and grain make each piece unique.

To preserve their original qualities, we recommend a few extra care steps:

- Hand washing is recommended.
- Clean wooden items with a damp cloth; do not soak them.
- Use a mild dishwashing detergent when necessary.
- To maintain the wood’s qualities, occasionally rub with a food-safe mineral oil.
- Use boards and boxes only for dry foods.
- Periodically re-treat wooden items with food-safe wax or oil. Avoid scented oils, as they may turn rancid. Walnut, linseed, coconut, and flaxseed oils are good options.

Additional care guidelines:

- Never place wooden accessories in the dishwasher or leave them soaking in water.
- If the products feel rough after contact with water, lightly sand with fine-grit sandpaper and condition with wood oil or wax.

Metal - Clean with a damp cloth whenever necessary; dry immediately after cleaning to prevent damage caused by moisture.

Horn napkin rings - Clean with a damp cloth.

Tea infusers - Dishwasher safe, although hand washing is recommended. Rinse immediately after use to remove tea leaves and wash as soon as possible. Avoid harsh cleaning agents. Dry immediately after washing and store in a dry place.

Terracotta (earthenware) - Handmade and hand-painted in Portugal by artisans; slight variations in design and colour are normal. Terracotta is low-fired and tends to develop crazing with repeated use, which is natural and does not significantly affect the ceramic. Most items are dishwasher safe if handled with care, but hand washing will extend the product’s lifespan. Not recommended for use in the microwave or freezer.

Bath collections - We have developed a collection of elegant and durable bath accessories designed to enhance the guest experience. With nine distinct sets suitable for a variety of interior styles, each piece is dishwasher safe, easy to maintain, and made from sustainable materials in ethically run factories in Portugal.
- Zinc alloy: resistant to corrosion, wear, and impact. Clean with a soft, damp cloth; if needed, use warm water and a mild soap.
- Easy maintenance: all stoneware pieces are dishwasher safe.
- Avoid: harsh chemicals (bleach, ammonia, or strong disinfectants), as well as abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads.

COSTA NOVA generates vouchers and/or promotional codes in the order process of their registered customers.

To take advantage of these discounts the customer must enter the promotional code and/or accept the voucher and click on the "Apply Code" option.

The discount in question will be applied in the "Total Order" during checkout. 

COSTA NOVA accepts the following payment methods: Visa, Mastercard and Klarna.

Yes, the invoice will be sent to the email address provided. 
If you are a registered customer, the invoice will be available on your account after the order has shipped.

If an item is out of stock, our team will promptly notify you of the updated expected delivery time. If this extended time frame doesn't meet your needs, you have the option to request a refund.

The refund will be processed using the same payment method you used for the original purchase. Please note that the refund process typically takes up to 14 days from the moment we become aware of the item's unavailability. 

Yes. You can change your order (product selection, quantity, delivery and billing addresses, payment methods) until it is confirmed in our system (after payment).From the moment the order is processed, it is no longer possible to modify any order. To do so, you will have to cancel the order and place a new one.If you’re a registered customer, please check your order status to confirm all the changes. 

To ensure your order arrives in time for Christmas, please make sure to place your orders, with payment completed, by the following dates according to the destination:
• Madeira and Azores, Balearic and Canary Islands, Switzerland, Poland, Ireland, Croatia, Slovakia, Italy, Finland, Hungary, Norway, Sweden: by 30 November;
• Germany, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands: by 4 December;
• Mainland Portugal and Spain: by 12 December.


If your order does not arrive in time for Christmas, we suggest offering a Gift Card, giving the recipient the freedom to choose.

Online purchases on this site makes deliveries to the United Kingdom (mainland), Northern Ireland, the Isle of Wight, the Isles of Scilly, the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. All orders will be delivered to the address that you specified for delivery when you placed your order.

Furthermore, online purchases on www.costanova.com can be made in mainland Portugal, the Azores and Madeira archipelagos, Spain, the Balearic and Canary Islands, France (excluding the islands), Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Italy (excluding the islands), Luxembourg, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States of America.

Delivery times vary according to the location selected:

a) Within 3 to 9 business days if the customer chooses delivery to our COSTA NOVA stores in Aveiro, Porto and/or Lisbon;
b) Within 3 to 6 business days for addresses in Mainland Portugal;
c) Within 3 to 6 business days for addresses in Spain;
d) Within 3 to 8 business days for addresses in France;
e) Within 4 to 8 business days for addresses in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Denmark, Austria;
f) Within 5 to 10 business days for addresses in the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands and Italy;
g) Within 6 to 10 business days for addresses in Sweden, Slovakia, Finland, Hungary and Norway (customs clearance time not included);
h) Within 7 to 13 business days for addresses in Croatia;
i) Within 12 to 17 business days for addresses in the archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira, Ireland, Poland, Switzerland (customs clearance time not included).

Order preparation time is 1 to 3 business days and is included within the periods mentioned above.

Whenever possible, COSTA NOVA delivers orders within the indicated timeframes. These may be longer during promotional periods, Black Friday (November and December), and national holidays.

In any case, delivery estimates are merely indicative.

Delivery charges will be added during the checkout process, before the customer confirms the order. The delivery charges associated with each order are calculated according to the following:

 

Deliveries in Store

Deliveries to stores in Aveiro, Porto, and Lisbon are FREE.

 From November 15 to January 5, in-store pickup will not be available due to the high volume of orders.

Home Deliveries, by Country:

Please be aware that the carrier will deliver your packages to the front door of your building and not to the apartment door. 

Shipping costs will be added during the purchase process and vary according to the value of the order and the place of delivery:

Mainland Portugal: €4.99 for orders up to €50 / FREE for orders above €50.
Azores and Madeira Archipelagos, Balearic Islands and Canary Islands: €24.99 for orders up to €150 / FREE for orders above €150.
Spain: €7.99 for orders up to €50 / FREE for orders above €50.
Croatia: €49.99 for orders up to €500 / FREE for orders above €500.
France (excluding islands), Italy (excluding islands): €12.99 for orders up to €200 / FREE for orders above €200.

**For orders delivered to Norway, customers will be responsible for paying VAT, as well as €125 import clearance (flat rate per shipment) and any other local import duties and taxes upon arrival of the goods. Yes.

If you are a registered customer, you can track the status of your order in your personal area. To find out the exact location of your order, please enter the tracking number on the platform of the specified carrier.

For unregistered customers, after payment confirmation, and within a maximum of 24 hours, an order confirmation email will be sent, followed by another after its dispatch, with shipping tracking instructions. The tracking number will be provided so that the customer can track their order on the respective carrier's website.

For store deliveries, the customer will be informed via email of the arrival of the order at the selected store. The pickup must be made within a maximum of 7 days. After this period, the order will be returned to the warehouse, and pickup will incur delivery or collection costs.
It is necessary to present the order number and ID card at the time of picking up the order.

Yes. You need to formalize your request through the form available on the site, with the subject "Order reshipping".The information should indicate your order number and the order address.The reshipping implies new delivery charges.  

Please note that, for deliveries to apartments, the carrier will leave the order at the main entrance of the building. Delivery to the apartment door is at the driver’s discretion and is not contractually guaranteed.

Orders are shipped by a specialized carrier. They will be delivered to the address provided by the customer and cannot be changed. Providing incorrect information and/or requesting an address change is the full responsibility of the customer and may result in additional costs.

The customer may cancel the order, as long as it has not yet been processed by COSTA NOVA.

The cancellation must be formalized by an email sent to  costanova@costanova.pt with the subject “Order Cancellation” or using the form available on the site. 

The information must necessarily contain the order number, under penalty of ineffectiveness of the cancellation.

Registered customers may cancel the order in their personal area on the site.

You can return an item or order within 15 days of receiving it, subject to the following conditions:

a) The item purchased does not meet the customer's needs; (only available to customers registered on the site);
b) Item error (the item does not correspond to that requested by the customer);
c) Defective article;
d) Damaged article. You must check the condition of the item when it is delivered by the courier, noting any damage that may have resulted from the transportation of the goods on the waybill.

To exercise the right to return an item or order, the customer must contact us using the form available on the website or by emailing costanova@costanova.pt, with the subject "Return", or using the returns area available in the customer account.

The latter option is only available if the reason for the return is as stated in point a).


The customer must inform us of their wish to return an item within the period indicated above. The information must include the reasons for the return and the reference of the order in question. Returns will not be accepted without prior notice.


For points a) and b), returned items must be in saleable condition, i.e. in the same condition as when they arrived in the customer's hands.
Items that have been used in any way, transformed, damaged or missing labels and packaging will not be accepted.

Items must be returned, together with the invoice, using all the original packaging and fillers, in one of the following ways:

  • By ordinary post, to the address below:

              Zona Industrial de Vagos, Lote 78,
              3840-385 Vagos, Portugal.

  • By courier: if you decide to return your items via a courier designated by us, you should contact us via the email or form above so that we can arrange a date and time for collection from your home. Collection is usually made on the next working day.
  • In-store delivery: if you wish to return the item in-store, you can go to one of our 3 stores in Portugal. This return method is only available to those who selected "Store Delivery" as the delivery method for the initial order. There is no cost associated with this return method.


Costs charged to the customer:

Under the conditions indicated in points b) c) and d), COSTA NOVA assumes the full cost of the return and the cost of a new delivery, if the customer so wishes.
The refund will be processed after the Quality Department has assessed the condition of the item(s), using the same payment method used in the initial transaction, within approximately 30 days of receipt of the return.
Under point a), the customer is responsible for all transportation costs associated with the return.

Returns through the customer account (only for registered customers)

In the event that the item purchased does not meet the customer's needs, the customer can access their customer area, in the "Orders" tab, and select the order or items they wish to return. They must follow the steps indicated on the website, selecting the reason for the return and how they want the amount refunded (payment voucher or monetary value). Once the process is complete, you will receive an email registering your return request.

The customer can only select "Store delivery" to return the order/article if this was the delivery method chosen for the initial order.

The costs of courier delivery will be borne by the customer.


VARIATIONS THAT SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED DEFECTS

The products sold, particularly handmade products, often have the characteristics of the natural materials used in their production. These characteristics, such as variations in grain, texture, knots and color, will not be considered defects or damage. On the contrary, the User should expect their presence, and appreciate such characteristics. We only select products of the highest quality, but natural characteristics are unavoidable, and must be accepted as part of the product's individual appearance. The provisions contained in this clause shall not affect your rights as a consumer and User, nor your right to cancel the Contract.

COSTA NOVA will refund the amount of the returned products, including the costs of our standard delivery option to the original delivery address, without undue delay and within a maximum period of 14 days. We may withhold the refund until we receive the products back or until the customer can show us proof that they have been returned. We apologize if any of the items are not what you expected. Please contact our customer support through the contact form, indicating that the item is incorrect or defective. We will proceed with the replacement or refund as soon as we receive it in our warehouses.

You can choose between E-Gift Cards worth €30, €50, €100, €150, and €200.

The E-Gift Card is valid for 12 months from the date of issuance.

Yes. If you make a purchase for less than the Gift Card's value, the remaining balance can be used on a future purchase.

Yes, but only if the E-Gift Card has not been used.

If you return an item purchased with a E-Gift Card, the amount will be refunded through a store credit voucher, valid exclusively on the online store.

Yes, as long as it is not purchased in one of the online stores to be redeemed in another. Please note that COSTA NOVA has three online stores, divided geographically: USA, UK, and EUROPE.
