Even though, in Portugal, tea culture is not as strong as coffee’s, it's been in the Portuguese drinking habits since it's maritime past, connected to the commercial route coming from Asia.

That piece of history made the Azores to be the only European region to produce tea on an industrial scale, still today, and led the Portuguese princess, Catarina de Bragança, to take the habit of drinking tea to England.
